The MVP Race is Already Over
Josh Allen has obviously secured the MVP already barring catastrophe.
Undoubtedly, after the Lions/Bills game last night, the NFL MVP race is already over barring some catastrophe. It hit me yesterday that we are truly witnessing an all-time great with him in the league. I’ve been so focused on the old guard retiring that I have ignored what has been in front of me. I believe Allen will win a ring before his career ends, but we can’t get caught up in ring-culture with him- he should be mentioned alongside Peyton and Brees when his career is all said and done.
Allen has 92 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns through two games. He has thrown for 582 yards (291 a game), has a 66.7% completion rate and an average YPA of 9.7. He’s thrown for five touchdowns and has a QBR of 125.8. Don’t get me wrong, there is a whole lot of season left- and the week two games haven’t even occured except for last night- but I truly believe Allen has the MVP in hand. His odds on DK currently sit at +350- an absurdly low number for someone to already have.
We will see how the rest of the season plays out, but we are witnessing an all-time great who has likely already locked up his next MVP trophy.
